Rebranding of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia

Rebranding of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia

The “NRDN” developed a refreshed style for the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (SCMCHR). The rebranding affected almost every aspect of the museum’s life, including a new logo, corporate identity, website design, business documentation, souvenir products, advertising, and navigation. The bureau’s identity was based on the rich history of the museum, located in a late classical architecture building from the late 18th century. From 1831 to 1917, the famous Moscow English Club was located there, and after that, the Museum of Revolution was established. The museum’s updated logo features a recognizable silhouette of the building with lions, with red dominating the color scheme, visually referencing Soviet aesthetics. The new corporate style of SCMCHR became a significant event in the Russian museum community, with many cultural institutions subsequently orienting themselves to it when conducting rebranding.
